Netflix have just launched a One Pager to help accurately detect your Internet connection speed. Not much going on from a design point of view but minimal, works well and what a monster domain name. There is a really good discussion happening over on Product Hunt about the motivation behind Netflix doing this.
Fast.com estimates your current download speed. You will generally be able to get this speed from leading internet services, which use globally distributed servers.
