Quite a scattered chaotic, brutalist layout but can appreciate the effort and what they are going for. The 'Beeswax' one pager was created to support a printed publication that Hambly & Woolley self-authored on bee culture. You can read the ebook online.
During the development of the book it became apparent that the subject of bees and their importance to society was impossible to fully house in a single document. There were so many research sites, videos, blogs and news postings that helped us build our story of bees that we wanted to create an organic online space to highlight these references and allow people to explore the materials themselves. The environment needed to be exciting. It also needed to be viewable by everyone and, though the layout of the site isn't responsive, standard or Retina-optimized images are served up depending on the display resolution. We wanted it to marry with the look of the printed piece, but it was important to make sure that The Beeswax site was a unique experience of discovery.
