The Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK) is an artistic and scientific university. It offers a wide range of subjects, allowing students to study for an extensive combination of artistic and scientific qualifications. At its heart are the artistic studies chosen by students, plus project-specific and experimental working methods. In line with the strengths of free artistic learning, students are not bound to follow a fixed curriculum: there is no rigid structure of sequential units of learning content. Students work in studios, and are given intensive support by tutors in individual and group tutorials.
