What it means

It usually needs a steadier rhythm than a headline. Font choice, size, line height, line length and contrast work together to make reading comfortable. A one-page website can contain only a few paragraphs and still benefit from treating them as a deliberate reading system.

Use it in practice

Test with finished or realistic copy. Read several paragraphs on a phone and a larger screen before settling on the settings.

Watch out for

Tiny pale text may look quiet in a mockup but become hard to read. Avoid relying on oversized headings to carry information missing from the copy.
