A visual history of computers

Some stunning illustrations showcasing the history of computers in a long colorful One Pager. The ’embed infographic’ feature (top left) is a nice touch and the site is responsive too, great job guys!

IT firm Akita have presented a visual timeline of computers since the COLOSSUS' inception in 1943. The timeline pulls out interesting and key facts for each decade up until the present, picking up on key themes in how computers are being used - particularly mobile workforces, cloud storage and constantly improving hardware. The website was illustrated in Adobe Illustrator and coded in HTML5/CSS3 with the Skrollr JavaScript animation library. Nothing on the design is hidden, but as you scroll you should see the decades reveal themselves from below the fold.
