The Top 20 One Pagers from 2013.

Published by Rob Hope in Landing Page Trend Round-Ups, on 31 Dec 2013

2013 was an incredible year for the One Page website! Here are our top 20 picks out of the 79 One Pagers we awarded Most Loved last year. It wasn’t easy and there is no ranking order but each is given a reason why we think it was worthy of a top 20 placement.

Factors that influenced our decisions are mainly the quality of the One Page website but there are one or two we have thrown in here due to the massive amount of social sharing they received – an obvious indication of reader appreciation. We are currently working on a user voting system for the 2014 best-of list. Enjoy…

1. NBA All Stats

Gorgeous One Pager dedicated to providing stats for the NBA since 1970. The detail in these infographics is as good as it gets, not to mention the beautiful CSS transitions to switch between them. A seriously amount of love has gone into this site and love is what it deserves.

2. Make Your Money Matter

Make sure you fasten your seat belts before you take this new "Most Loved" One Pager for a ride. 'Make Your Money Matter' is a new credit union campaign that aims to expose what really happens with the money you deposit in banks. This informational One Pager is absolutely packed with glorious colorful illustrations that animate as you scroll. What a stellar One Page website - seriously take it for a spin.

3. Robby Leonardi

Our latest "Most Loved" entry is this amazing interactive resume by designer Robby Leonardi. You seriously need to experience this One Pager bursting with color and illustrations - another contender for One Pager of the year.

4. Transfer Window

Incredible AJAX loading One Pager illustrating the various transfers made within all the major football leagues. Especially love the animations of the infographics. Great work by Signal Noise based in the UK.

5. Nique Woodhouse

For some reason I'm just loving the big imagery and flow of Nique Woodhouse's portfolio. Each project only has a handful of big beautiful images, a mini project overview and an impressive post-launch stat. All that along with the subtle keyboard nav infographic makes this One Pager feel so uncluttered and minimalistic. Great job Nique!

6. Minimal Monkey

Stephen Burgess is an Interactive Developer from England, currently based in New York City working for Fi. His new AJAX loading responsive blog redesign is one of the freshest One Pagers I've seen in ages. Built with WordPress, love the subtle details like flapping twitter bird and jumping logo effect on hover. The load transitions are just superb when opening blog posts, not to mention the lovely use of color throughout the site. Oh and we're not going to mention the hidden Easter Egg;)

7. Spotify Year in Review 2013

Music streaming giants, Spotify, have launched an overview of their 2013 year in an incredible One Page website. This dazzling One Pager assembles and animates as you scroll down revealing stats and infographics from a phenomenal year.

8. Adam Hartwig

UK based Adam Hartwig brought us the awesome Pudding Rush website back in December. He has now officially launched his own portfolio and it comfortably sits in the 'Most Loved' category with his previous submission. An exceptional One Pager with so many beautiful illustrations and transitions, you find yourself browsing the site twice. Early contender for One Pager of the year, top job Adam.

9. The Interactive Ear

The ridiculously well done interactive One Pager explaining all the parts of the human ear and how it hears.

10. Justin Aguilar

Such a clean designed One Page portfolio site for Toronto based designed Justin Aguilar. Love how the header bar changes according to project with easy to navigate buttons to the right. A final shout out to the type mix featuring Novecento Wide and Source Sans Pro, lovely stuff.

11. KITKAT

The new KitKat website is so awesome - featuring beautiful modern One Page web design techniques - that we're going to overlook that (unnecessary) contact page link in the footer. Take this slick site for a spin to experience Nestle having a dig at Apple with this feature rich promo page for their popular KitKat chocolate. Brilliant.

12. Mesut Özil

Our latest "Most Loved" listing is a magnificent One Pager and official website for football superstar, Mesut Özil. I honestly don't know where to begin in the review, just take this one for a spin. I'm particularly impressed with the beautiful stats section and would love to know how automated it is. Another contender for One Pager of the year. *Update* The data gets automatically synced via OPTA (OPTA is a big sport-database which handles all the statistics about professional football worldwide).

13. Kocha

Man, this One Pager has such a beautiful flat design just bursting with color. Kocha Worapon is a graphic designer originally from Bangkok who now resides in Sydney. The responsive adaption of his portfolio is super slick and I love how the hand changes angle on mobile. Welcome to the 'Most Loved' category Kocha!

14. Your Brain Map

Open Colleges bring us this exceptional interactive One Pager mapping out the brain to help promote their 84 strategies for accelerated learning. This Landing Page features a brilliantly illustrated brain 3D infographic with several layers of information. Take it for a spin to appreciate the effort put in.

15. Ian James Cox

At first I loaded up the site with a ton of windows/programs open and the scroll transitions were super sluggish. So I gave it a day and so glad I did. Ian's unique layout portfolio makes beautiful use of the ScrollPath jQuery plugin. He has also pulled off angled selectable text quite well which is a royal pain to get crisp. Great job Ian!

16. Barcamp Omaha 2013

Grain & Mortar are back with an awesome One Pager for the annual BarCamp in Omaha. Such cool monster illustrations and moving elements, top job!

17. How Much Does It Cost To Make An App?

A brilliant One Pager with a beautiful flat design that helps you calculate how much it will cost to ship your app idea. A great reference for a useful informational One Pager that pitches a service right at the end.

18. Angry Bear

What an absolutely gorgeous design in this One Page portfolio for digital agency, Angry Bear. Its so refreshing to see a illustration filled design after sifting through the majority of submissions that try look the same. The One Pager is simple, with only 4 sections - but is filled with flavour and attention to detail - for example the "clawed" favicon. Welcome to the "Most Loved" category!

19. Jens Lehmann

The official website for ex-football player turned speaker Jens Lehmann, is a magnificent One Pager. The site offers slick keyboard browsing to navigate around the minimalistic and spacious design. The quality images of Jens just shows the investment in this project as you can see they were taken exclusively for the website. Make sure you read the full case study by developers Ming Labs over here.
